Terms and Conditions

  1. Terms, Details and Rules of Canadian Canoe Raffle. The Terms and Conditions  herein set out are at all times governed by Laws of the Republic of Ireland.
  2. Payment Options- Entries by online payment at https://thehelenblake.com/  and  also tickets for sales at local venues in the Hook Peninsula.
  3. Further Details-New about the raffle will be updated through our social media channels on Facebook, Instagram and through our website https://thehelenblake.com/. You can also contact us via email at info@thehelenblake.com 
  4. Promotor- The promotor for this raffle is The Helen Blake Community Group CLG.
  5. The draw will be held under permit ref no.3170/2022 issued by Superintendent Shay Keevans of an Garda Siochana, New Ross District
  6. Beneficiaries’- The fundraising purpose of the raffle is to raise funds for the community project- the building of the Helen Blake Replica Lifeboat. All proceeds will be used for that purpose ( including costs associated with the organisation and running of this raffle.
  7. The prize is as stated, a newly built Canadian Canoe, which was built by the construction team of the Helen Blake Replica Lifeboat.
  8. The Prize will be delivered within County Wexford and it will be the winners responsibility to collect the canoe if they reside outside County Wexford.
  9. The Helen Blake Community Group CLG or any of its servants, agents, licensees, trustees, directors, committee participants or the organisers of the raffle shall not in any circumstances be liable for any loss, damage, inconvenience or expense suffered by the winner in relation to the subsequent use of the canoe.
  10. By purchasing a ticket, the purchaser thereby agrees to be bound by the rules and the Terms and Conditions.
  11. The draw is open to the general public aged 18 years and over only. Any tickets purchased by persons under age of 18 years shall be declared null and void. Tickets purchased by an adult using the name of a person under 18 years of age will be deemed to be the ownership of the adult who purchased the ticket. An adult may buy a ticket in trust or as a gift for someone under 18 years.
  12. The executive officers of The Helen Blake Community Group CLG and raffle organising committee may not purchase tickets. Family members of said organisers and executive officers may participate in the raffle.
  13. A maximum of 1,000 tickets are available to purchase.
  14. In order to safeguard against The Helen Blake Community Group incurring losses the following rules apply:
    1. If less than 500 tickets sold the raffle prize will be a cash prize worth 50% of ticket income up to a maximum 3,000 euro.
    2. If more than 500 tickets are sold, the raffle prize will be the canoe.
  15. The raffle prize will be held within 10 days of the closing date. All participants shall be entitled to witness the draw live or via live stream. Details will be announced publicly via our website https://thehelenblake.com/ and Facebook, Instagram closer to the time.
  16. The winner will be announced publicly and via our website and social media following the raffle draw.
  17. The winner may be subject to identity verification by The Helen Blake Community Group and this process may take 14 days to complete.
  18. If the winner cannot be contacted via one of the above means of communication or does not claim their prize within 21 days of the notification of the same, the Helen Blake Community Group CLG reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and select a replacement Winner.
  19. The raffle with be implemented and conducted by The Helen Blake Community Group CLG. The preparation of entries for the final draw will be independently observed by the Independent Adjudicator who will be appointed by The Helen Blake Community Group CLG. 
  20. The Helen Blake Community Group will maintain books and records recording the entries into the raffle and all costs relating to the raffle. The books and records will be audited by the Independent Adjudicator within 14 days of the draw taking place. The identity of the adjudicator will be notified to all participants on our website in advance of the draw.
  21. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) :
    1. The Helen Blake Community Group CLG will retain and use the tickets purchaser’s personal data for the duration of the raffle and for a 3 month period there after for auditing and verification reasons.
    2. On purchasing a ticket or tickets, each purchaser agrees to the use of his or her details being used solely in connection with this raffle. Personal data of any kind will not be disclosed to a third party without the members consent.
    3. The winner hereby agrees and consents to the use of his or her personal data or image being released in publicity material in conjunction with the raffle.
    4. The winner hereby also agrees and consents to his or her personal data being released to relevant third parties to effect the transfer of the prize to him or her.
  22. Once purchased, no refunds will be issued except in the event of cancellation of the draw.
  23. The Helen Blake Community Group reserves the right to cancel the draw/raffle and if for any reason the Draw shall not proceed, the participants who purchased tickets will be refunded the sum of 100% of the value of the tickets purchased.
  24. The Helen Blake Community Group CLG reserves the right to change the date of the draw due to any unforeseen circumstances.
  25. The Helen Blake Community Group CLG reserves the right to cancel the raffle and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside the promoter’s control. Any changes to the raffle will be advertised as soon as possible by The Helen Blake Community Group CLG publicity via the website and social media.
  26. The Helen Blake Community Group reserves the right at all times to amend the raffle and terms and conditions herein set out and in purchasing a ticket, the participant consents and agrees to be bound by said amendments. The cancellation of any change to the raffle or these terms and condition will be notified to the Participants as soon as possible via the website and Facebook/Instagram.
  27. All disputes, differences and questions of any nature which at any time may arise between the purchaser of a ticket and the organisers of The Helen Blake Community Group Raffle shall be referred to an independent arbitrator to be nominated by The Helen Blake Community Group CLG to determine the dispute, differences or issues.
  28. Errors and Omissions excepted. The Helen Blake Community Group CLG, it’s servants, agents, licensees, trustees, directors, committee participants or the organisers of the raffle accepts no responsibility whatsoever whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission, interception, or communications failure, for received, late, missing, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, corrupted or misdirected claims or entries.
  29. The Helen Blake Community Group CLG reserves the right to add additional prizes to the raffle. The addition of any such prizes will be notified to participants as soon as practicable once added to the raffle via the website and Facebook. Instagram.
  30. Neither The Helen Blake Community Group CLG nor any of its servants, agents, licences, trustees, directors, committee participants nor the organisers of the raffle of whatsoever nature or howsoever appointed shall be liable to the participants for any loss, inconvenience, damage of expense suffered by participating in this raffle.
  31. The Helen Blake Community Group its agents or members shall not in any circumstances be liable for any loss suffered dues to any issues  with the use of the canoe.
  32. The Helen Blake Community Group CLG shall not be liable for any failure in the performance of any of its obligations if caused by factors outside its control.
  33. The Helen Blake Community Group CLG is established and conducted for no purpose connected with gaming, wagering or lotteries.
  34. The Helen Blake Community Group CLG decision is respect of all matter to do with the raffle will be final and no correspondence will be entered into in respect to the raffle or the raffle result.
